The proposed trip to Lightning Ridge is scheduled for the 23/24/25 October 2015.
Loosely the program is as follows-
v Travel to and from by Alley’s coach, say 9am, pick up at two locations but I suggest one of them be our house (359 Bournes Lane) because there is plenty of parking space and the coach driver lives next door. Cost of coach is $2,350.
Light lunch at Wee Waa (haven’t worked this one out yet, waiting to hear back from RC of Wee Waa but will be included in total price.
v Two night’s accommodation at the Opal Caravan Park, cabins are $110 per night, two cabins have two bedrooms.
v Friday night BBQ at the caravan park put on by the Rotary Club of Lightning Ridge. We will all pitch in and help with the work. People may like to bring their own drinks for this function, long walk into town for supplies.
v Saturday breakfast is simple bacon and egg roll and coffee/tea from the Gecko Café.
v Saturday local tour 9am to 3pm, includes Cactus Garden, Walk in Mine, sandwich lunch supplied by the Gecko Café. Tour Guide is John Bevan who is donating his time.
v Saturday dinner is two courses at Bruno’s Café, will be on the footpath so is weather sensitive. Probably can relocate to the Hebel pub if enough notice is given. LR Rotarians will be joining us.
v Sunday breakfast is again a bacon and egg roll and tea/coffee from the Gecko.
Sunday morning free, markets will be on, shops will be open. Early lunch to be at own choice/own cost.
Return to Tamworth say midday.
v Included in total price, likely $350pp for couples, will be slightly more for singles. Final price needs to be confirmed, will be dependent on numbers.
The loose framework is in place, we now just need numbers!
